The World Series of Poker (WSOP) is undoubtedly the biggest Texas holdem tournament in the world, with the largest player fields and the biggest prizes on offer. The national television coverage it has received in the past few years has brought the game of No-Limit Texas Hold’em to the masses. More and more people are coming to the realization that playing for the big money in a poker tournament makes it an exciting prospect.

This is tournament which the big poker pros play and want to win desperately and where most of the media coverage is focused. The buy-in costs $10,000 for a seat in the Main Event, but if you run deep in this tournament the payoffs is huge and the television exposure makes this an attractive event to enter.
For the players who are fortunate to last the huge field of the WSOP Main Event, the the final table returns on November 6 and play continues through until November 9 – when the WSOP ME champion is announced. Some of the poker pros who have won the Main Event include the legend Doyle Brunson, Johnny Chan, Phil Hellmuth, and most recently Joe Cada.
